這款特別版以紐約地標作為棋子——從永遠守護的自由女神像化身為皇后，飛翔的鴿子成為騎士，奔忙的黃色計程車則是小兵。每顆棋子都代表紐約活力性格的一部分，向這座不夜城獻上趣味致敬。此西洋棋組由《紐約客》長期供稿人 Christoph Niemann 繪製插圖。
The New Yorker's iconic cover art translated onto a chess set is such a clever concept, and the board feels substantial with a nice weight to it. It’s a conversation piece that actually plays well, which is more than I hoped for.
The illustrations on each square are so uniquely New York—it feels like flipping through a hundred years of the magazine while you play. Even the box itself is a conversation starter, and the pieces have a nice, hefty weight that makes every move satisfying.
The board has that classic New Yorker cover art woven right into the design, so it feels less like a game and more like a piece of art for the coffee table. Even my non-chess friends keep stopping to admire it while we play.
